Quick to raise rates, slow to offer solutions...

Is this so much a TiVo thing or the fact that Cablecard technology hasn't evolved? The people who are blaming TiVo users for this miss a lot in this. TWC is required to offer cablecard technology (which the S3 Tivos use) so that the consumer is not required to rent their STB. Before they had this - people up and down the block complained that TWC gave you no other option but to rent their STB in order to get their service. Well, this is an extension to that and why TWC would change their service without already having a solution for their cablecard customers is a head scratcher.

We should ask why cablecard technology has not evolved to two-way communications already. Regardless, as usual - it should have been considered before and a fix should have been already in place before moving to SDV. It would have been a compassionate idea on their part to clean up their shit before moving on with this. Instead the only thing they're quick with is raising your rates.

CableCARD has evolved, well beyond the limited spec the FCC passed to get CE makers to put 1-way enabled CableCARD slots in their equipment.

Tivo didn't build their gear to the specs that have been available for the last few years to enable 2-way capabilities that cable companies can use.
