I'm finally back... A lot of things have been going on in myu life this year, and photography has just not been something I have had the time for. Hopefully that'll change from now on and I've had the time to go through some of the shots I took on our trip back to Denmark just recently.
As I get around to it I will post some more pictures either here in this thread or in my gallery. Feel free to comment, and I'll be happy to give sightseeing advise about Denmark
First two pictures are from the ferry to the small island of Christians Island - a naval base that was established in the late 1600's on two small skerries that form a natural harbor. The naval base was shut down in 1855, having lost its military importance (»en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ertholmene). Only approx. 70 people live on the two islands that are visited by 60,000 tourists every year. We spent the night in the only hotel on the island, which only has 6 rooms. I'll post more pictures from the island later - it is a pretty unique place especially after the last ferry leaves with the tourists.
Third picture was taken inside the Frederiks Church located next to the royal palace in Copenhagen. The dome is the largest church dome in Scandinavia. It was pretty dark, so I had to place the camera on one of the pews and use the timer (would have been nice to have the shake reduction, but that will have to wait until I can afford the k20 ).
The last picture is of the new operahouse in Copenhagen, located on the harbor. |

A couple more...
First a detail of one of the bridges across a canal in Copenhagen.
Then Roskilde Domkirke - the church where all the Danish kings and queens are buried - in the typical Danish rain.
And finally waves breaking in gale force winds on the piers on Christians Island shortly before we were taking the very small ferry back. |
