When I go to Europe, I get a throw-away cellphone and leave the one I have here. Way cheaper.
Same thing. I spend a lot of time in Thailand and usually just get a cheap prepaid phone that I can top up occasionally. I love wireless service over there -- you never pay for incoming calls or texts!
Same in Europe. Coverage is excellent. Using cell in Europe shows just how bad cell sucks in the USA. Why can't we have ONE system here? Why? Why? Why? -- Saving the world keeps me busy. However, I find Earth very primitive from my home planet of Krypton. -Supergirl
