We actually had some water issues yesterday. Ike pushed enough water into Lake Pontchartrain to cause our streets to flood. I've never seen water in the streets this bad. We couldn't leave our subdivision and the Interstate exit near my house is completely shutdown/closed off.

I just got power around 5:30 pm yesterday. We lost it Monday morning around 0800. Glad to hear you're OK with minimal damage.

I never really got a chance to go get pictures of the neighborhood. Been way to busy cleaning up, working, and getting gas. There are a lot of destroyed houses and cars around.

Here are a few pictures from during the hurricane. Can't really see the wind, which was crazy strong. I am scheduled to get eletric back in 14-21 days. Love the sound of generators at night.

I'm back. Still no phones or electric. I set up our whole company network on tons of those Verizon wireless cards. We also bought a ton of Verizon cell phones. That was the only thing working. There are crazy oak trees everywhere. My place is fine, but everything around it is destroyed. There are phone poles, electric lines, and trees still laying around everywhere. That was a crazy storm.

They were staging them in my area as well and I've seen the rolling along I-10 & Airline. Glad you have power. We are still without power and running on generator. Gas has not been an issue as of yet.

I drove through baton rouge on my way back in last night. They got some damage in that area. I was just happy to find out that I had power when I got back.
Seen lots of linemen trucks coming down 55.

There are alot of people here heading down there to help. Most of our emergency crews are available. Not much happened here except some light rain.

When you get done with our linemen, we want them back.
Our power supply isn't as bad as yours, but we're having a few problems. Some phone service too, but nothing like ya'll's stuff.
Good thing I live on a hill. The little babbling brook in my back yard is about thirty feet wide now.
Hell, If I thought this would have happened, I'd have had a hurricane party Monday. I could do for a "pat-o-brian's" mix right now.
Welp, gotta fire up the chainsaw. I'm outta here.

Fared well, but the news on getting power is NOT good. They said 14 transmission lines that serve our area were down. They have one online, but the rest experienced severe damage. We are basically an island detached from the system. Getting us back on the "grid" could take weeks. If we don't get power (or continue to find gas), we'll be leaving until we do get power.

Ya'll need to take this stuff back.
The wind is knocking over my beer-can pyramids, the trees are losing limbs and I'm sure I'll lose power before morning.
All this rain should make my food plots do well though.
Glad you guys fared well.

Here. Most of the rain is past us now. No damage to my home. Trees and branches all over the place. I've seen roof damage on homes and fences down.

The winds have really picked up. It's not raining alot, just the winds are causing it to be a driving rain.
I still have power and Internet (obviously), so that's a good thing. I'm sure at some time during the day I'll lose both of those as there have been reports of power outages already.
For now everything is ok.
