Valencia, CA | As crummy as PPPoE is, ATM overhead is the biggest culprit preventing him from getting his advertised speeds. At least Verizon over-caps to compensate for it.

Schererville, IN | The area I was in while in school was ex-gte verizon. They gave you the sync rate that compensated for overhead, but in that area they used dhcp instead of pppoe. Speeds were actually higher than the advertised rate because of that. |
