| Harley Davidson bikes should be banned
Pulled into the drive-thru on my way to work this morning and while placing my order a Harley biker pulls into the parking lot. Im literally screaming to place my order but it's no use. I had to pull up to the window to place the order. Now as you all know, these bikes are extremely annoying when it comes to the noise pollution that they produce. Don't most cities usually have a noise pollution ordinances? Why can't these bikers muffle their bikes like we muffle cars? We need to do something about this problem.

these bikes are pretty loud, and annoying.
Pretty sure those riders will or have hearing problems.
There are times at night where this biker just revving their engine. I always wonder which is louder their harley or my 12GA. |

I ride and like to have my bike as loud as possible. That way all you morons on your cell phones, drinking your coffee, eating fast food, putzing with your GPS and listening to your satellite radios can hear me and dont run me over or cut me off!!! Maybe if you people would pay more attention when you drove we wouldnt have our pipes so loud.

I agree and usually a person riding a Harley has friends riding harleys which can be extremely loud and even more annoying. |

I like loud pipes as much as the next guy, but some of the pipes Harley owners put on their bikes are just ridiculous. There's loud and good sounding and then there is loud and obnoxious. Most modified Harley's fall into the second category.
I love it when I see a Harley owner wearing ear plugs while riding their bike...thats just brilliant. And yes, we all know your bike is badass...no need to blip the throttle at every damn stop sign.
Most Harley's are pretty damn good at converting gasoline into noise without the pesky side-effect of horsepower.
Im almost with ya OP...I think banning the bikes is a bit extreme. However, id like to see some reasonable enforcement of exhaust noise levels with these bikes...and ricers for that matter...but that's another topic.

I would rather listen to loud harleys all day. I can't stand somebody pulling beside you with their loud radio blasting rap and sounding like crap with their whole car rattling. |

Unless they are so freaking loud they present a clear and present DANGER to all around them. I have had my own run ins with asses running straight pipes in a pack of 10-12 bikes that gunned their bikes to get around me - to turn a few seconds faster than me in less than 50 yards. So freaking loud I could not freaking SEE, much less hear. Excruciating pain shooting thru my head and ear - idiotic asses turned the same direction I was going - they got there 2 seconds faster.
It is one thing to be load enough to hear - it is QUITE another to be a rolling ass bags and deafening everyone in the area.
And no - I don't do the things you think everyone does. |

All Harleys are vibrating soundmachines.If ANY other bike would be that loud you would be pulled over instantly.Don't mind a Harley but they should by law have a muffler like other bikes MUST have.Of course being loud make those that ride them think they are soooo fast(but they are not) just a motorized pedal bike thats all. |
