Aaaaand...Qwest still uses interleave practically everywhere (+45 ms latency on the first hop around here) and PROVISIONED (not actual) speeds top out at 5120/896 for a $47 a month dry line. They must be copper-fed or something; downloads are absolutely SMOKING to get up to 4.25 Mbps down, 700k up. Usually more like 3.5/600. However with ComCaps they could take over the market if they intro'd FTTN ADSL2+ here.

what Qwest is stating is that their vdsl equipment vendor will discontinue manufacturing the backend equipment as well as set top boxes. This is to start thee October and continue through 2009

@QWEST.NET

I am waiting for a little sweeter Direct TV deal to switch. Long enough to get a decent deal, not so long as waiting in a line. Qwest has a decent amount of TV VDSL customers so if wait till last minute Direct TV or if leave entirely COX may have a waiting list switching all the customers along with their normal work.

It's to bad, without interleave, Qwest has some of the lowest, most stable pings out there.

Missing out on another marketing opportunity.
