 | wow uninformed You gusy do know that its not the coax medium that is the slowdown but the docsis spec itself. Narad had 100/100 to every user on coax using switches in different spots.
So blame the docsis spec not the coax medium. The coax medium is good to about 270/270 .
I would think that we have to have more upgrades that have to happen after people get 100/100 that would have to happen before cable companies switch to all fiber like bigger backbones and stuff.
Verizon had to switch to fiber because there telephone wires were worse then coax.
Yes the cable companies ads are fib but verzions fios ads are doing the same thing by blaming the coax medium for the low speeds instead of the docsis spec. |

 | No, the coax medium is why they need docsis. If they didn't utilize the coax, they wouldn't be needing docsis to begin with.
I'm sorry, but in all of these comparisons of the two networks why not mention how much catv slows when actually being used? Fios is a consistent speed for the most part, whereas CATV is up and down to the extreme. |
|
 | no because narad didnt use the docsis spec. They came up with there own that used switches at all the different conenction points and gave each house a 100/100 conenction. Heck verizon uuses the moca spec over coax for fios. There are different standards besides docsis. |
|
 | What I am getting at is that unless they copy the Verizon scheme, they have to do something to be more competitive. End users simply aren't going to be happy losing speed because others are using the same node. |
