1 edit | If that's the case, good. BUT let's hope the Tories won't become the majority or we're screwed.
And personally, none of the leaders interest me, whether it's the liberals or NDP. We don't have an Obama like fellow who will energise the election and the country. I guess we'll be stuck with minorities governments for a while. |

I don't like Dion and I hate the Tories. The NDP at least, show they'll protect people's interest instead of sucking up to the American industry. |

What is this. Do you have ANY memory at all?
Great idea! Lets vote NDP! That'll screw the Tories and Liberals right?
Only problem is, Ontario tried that in the early 90's and we're STILL paying for that mess. -- »daterminehtor.blogspot.com/ |

If you look out west, Saskatchewan in particular you will see that they have been run by an NDP provincial government in past without any issues. The NDP was in power from 1991 -2007. Maybe it is time we give the NDP half a chance as they cant do any worse than the other two parties have in recent past |

| reply to habskilla Unfortunately for any of the NDPers out there, it's virtually impossible for them to become even a minority government given the current landscape. Other than BC, and Sask, where they have some presence, they get destroyed. They have virtually no support in Quebec, and the only areas in Ontario where they could do well are in Metro TO and heavy union towns like the Hammer and Windsor. Until the Bloc disappears we're going to be headed for decade after decade of either Tory or Liberal minority / slim majority rule.
Saying that, I'm thrilled the election kills the Canadian DMCA. Hopefully it takes so long for them to organize a new one that the next election gets in the way as well. |

It may suck, but it is fact. Some ridings are simply between the two main parties, while other ridings smaller parties have a chance. |

Every party gets a premium per vote, so the more votes they get the more money they get for party development funds. With those funds they can do more advertising, hire more long term staffers, have more stability and gain more votes in future elections.
One example of this is you guessed it, the NDP. They have gone from a party without a single seat in parliament to now having 30. |
