| reply to Truthisone stevech0 - Now you're being vague lol You said you don't think it is VOIP related, Does that mean you don't think it is a hardware defect either? Would you mind throwing out a few examples of what the problem could be? Just so I could get some idea. If it is too much trouble, I understand. |

| reply to Truthisone said by Truthisone :Usually it happens when I'm surfing the web or using Yahoo IM. Suddenly, I won't be able to connect to the internet and Windows give me that icon that says "There is limited or no connectivity" The lights on the router stop blinking (normally they blink). I don't get a dial tone. If I pickup my phone there is just silence. This sounds like your router needs a factory reset + a firmware re-flash and/or upgrade. I had this problem with my Linksys WRTP54G running firmware v3.1.24. However, after a firmware v3.1.27 upgrade, the problem went away.
According to Vonage, the firmware is automatically updated or I would have tried to do that myself. That's true for a Vonage device. -- Mazilo always prays for FREEBIES! US Phone: +1-678-601-0907 UK Phone: +44-703-194-2574

| reply to Truthisone I understand what you are trying to do, you need wireless router so you can use VOIP anywhere in your house, right? Why don't you just have a softphone on your cellphone. That way, you can use VOIP inside your house without getting a new router, and the good thing is when you're not at home you can still use your VOIP phone anywhere you go. Check out with Nomado, they can give you soft phone and I've heard they can now provide VOIP on iphone, they call it iNomado software, for other cellphones just check it on their website. |

| reply to Truthisone aandrews- no, I think you misunderstand. I don't need the wireless router for VOIP anywhere in my apt. I have a cordless phone for that and It is a small place . I need a wireless router for connecting multiple devices to the internet. I have a couple of PCs and a Wii to connect to the internet. |

I have exact issue with WRTP54G-NA that was locking up while using all 3 functions router, ATA, and Wi-Fi together, issue caused by using Wi-Fi mainly two other functions can work without any issues. Now the question is where did you get FW v3.1.27? I checked again before my post the last firmware from Linksys that came out couple of years ago was v3.1.24 and no new firmware after it. |

| said by MartyT :Mazi, what is your expert opinion on this latest release of software? Can all router, voip and wireless functions work well together with the .27 software? Hi Marty, I had tested two WRTP54G-ER units, configured with WiFi disabled, and they had a (hiccup) problem when running with firmware v3.1.24; however, such a problem went away once I flashed them with firmware v3.1.27. I never tested with WiFi enabled.
A friend who also flashed his WRTP54G-ER with firmware v3.1.27 confirmed that such a hiccup and other problems on his WRTP54G-ER went away. He also found out the other problem(s) were caused by enabling the DNS masquerade (?) option on firmware v3.1.27. He never bothers to flash back his WRTP54G-ER with the old firmware v3.1.24 to confirm the DNS masquerade (?) option problem(s). -- Mazilo always prays for FREEBIES!
