I have a 3640 router that I was using to terminate a t3 through hssi. However we have upgraded that router to a 3845 router, so I wanted to use the 3640 router to terminate a dsl connection. I currently have the dsl wic installed in a 2620 router.
On the 2620 router i get a full 7mbps down and 1mbps up on my adsl connection. However when I plug the wic into the nm-1fe2w card it connects ok, but the router will not do more than 2.5mbps. Every single speed test i run, the speed shoots up to 2.5mbps and slams into a virtual wall, it will not go a bit faster than that. Looking at the graphs and readouts on various speed testing websites it looks like to me like an issue with this router, as norrmally on the 2620 i get some movement at 7mbps, where the speed varies 71234kbps 71245kbps and so on as the download test is running. However on the 3640 it says 2500kbps and does not move, this would suggest to me its something with the router . Has anyone run into this. I looked up the nm card on cisco's website to make sure it showed my particular adsl wic card as compatible. I am at a complete loss with this. Anyone run into a similar problem?
you will see DSCC4 Clockrates: DSCC0 = 2600000 (ATM0/0) DSCC1 = 1000000 (ATM0/0) DSCC2 = 0 DSCC3 = 0 Now This is why I am only getting about 2.5mbps download.
Now my speed tests are topping out at about 5.2mbps and change.
Now here is the interesting part. On the 3640 53000 is as high as I can go, while on my 2620 the output is as follows. cisco 2620 (output of sh controller atm0/0) DSCC4 Clockrates: DSCC0 = 8000000 (ATM0/0) DSCC1 = 8000000 (ATM0/0)
So I guess the NM-1fe1r2w has a 5mb bandwidth limit. I guess its back to the 2620 for me.
However I would like someone with a NM-2w to try the above commands and let me know if the NM-2w has more bandwidth availible, my thinking is that the token ring or perhaps the 1fe is eating some of the bandwidth away.
