Im sure the xbox is capable of it, but not sure on the MR814.

I was guessing that the OP did not want to run UTP from the "wireless router in the house" to the xbox. I was also guessing that the OP's xbox does not have wireless capability without adding the adapter. I could be wrong about those.

Therefore he would have to use the wired ethernet port on the xbox, which could indeed plug into the MR814. However then how is he going to get from the MR814 to anywhere else? MR814v1 has not had a firmware update in years.

Therefore WDS is not available and the only way to get from the MR814 to the "wireless router in the house" would be by another ethernet cable. So if that's the case, why wouldn't the OP just run the cable straight from the "wireless router in the house" straight to the xbox?
--
USNG:
16TDN2870
Find your Lat-Long:
Geocoder

ArgMeMatey : Probably not. However you could tell your kid to shut off the xbox and start working on programming classes. It's never too early! Eventually maybe he can write his own firmware and if the chipset is flexible enough he can do it.

Or, he could find some way to earn $100. Is there some way to actually make money with an xbox, besides selling it? :)
