As me being a dial up user and trying to get dsl or cable down my road for years now, And you guys crying "omg I cant live on dsl its sooooo slow LOL". FFS, I would love to get anything high speed. Ive tried Wireless internet and its dial up speed ay my house and I dont even want to think about satellite. Who ever has high speed internet, You should be thankful you got something that fast, Unless, You want to move back to dial up? No? OK then. STOP COMPLAINING. |

I live in a town. My neighbor's house is about 20 FEET away from mine. We have paved roads. We have schools within walking distance. The telephone company is less than 3/4 mile drive from here.
We have cable and DSL service here since we have a fair population density per Sq Mi. Think ROI for the providers.
Some of you here need to look at things that are not within the realm of reality for terrestrial broadband. If you live MILES from population, don't expect broadband. Hell! Don't expect anything other than Sat! If you are living away from town, deal with it! Call them and ask what it would cost to service your house where it is.
See what they say... Thousands? Tens of thousands? To service one house? Them pay for it? Not happening! Sorry! -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

I'd love to live where my grandparents used to... but electricity was about all they had. No phone, no nothing! I'm a city boy. I really prefer power, gas, indoor plumbing(toilet/shower), cable TV, some sort of phone service, and internet. Since I have cruised on dialup for about a year, I do remember what it was like. Going from $9.99 for 50kbps to $42.95 for 1500kbps was worth it and it was(shocker) available. Today, I pay $52.95 and have 16mbps. One of the perks of living in a neighborhood in Suburbia you could say.
No neighbors is nice but there are other things besides neighbors that will likely be missing as well living away from town.
No thanks!
I choose connectivity and civilization within view.
I hope you get someone to connect you soon, but that may include urban sprawl taking away your wide(r) open space. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

You apparently are not in an urban environment at 6 acres of land. Do not expect DSL to be automatically strung to you. It aint going to happen!
Try this, get together with your *neighbors* and all collectively call and request service. Posting this nonsense here is going to net you nothing, sorry friend.
Call and hope or consider moving. That's about all you got! -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |
