Re: U-Voice in IL

Well I called the winback department and I can get U-Voice unlimited for $30 for switching back for some reason. The install fee is waived as well.

For $30 it's worth it to me plus I can kill my Linksys router and the TA. Install is set for next thursday it was going to be wednesday but I can't be home.

O'Fallon (Metro East/IL side of St Louis) will probably be later -- as their service is served out of the STL Video Hub Office, and thats where the upgrades/updates are done for regional releases, as opposed to the rest of IL that has already launched, which is all served out of the Chicago VHO (Central IL has not launched yet for any U-Verse service, and I am almost certain that Central IL will have at least 1 VHO, maybe more than 1).

So I would assume that O'Fallon won't launch U-Verse Voice until it is ready to launch on both sides of the River down there in Metro St Louis...

But don't quote me on that. It could be ready now...

Well, since it is a Thursday, it won't be me installing it, as Thursday is my off day.

But, your U-Verse Voice install day is my U-Verse TV & Internet install day...w00t! I finally get to have the product I install every day!

And you are probably considered "Winback" since you are porting from CallVantage. Remember, CallVantage is kinda the Red-Headed step child of AT&T (could be why it has begun the beginning of its end?). Regular AT&T Landline probably considers CallVantage a "competitor" as opposed to another AT&T Voice service.

I am out of town Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday I have to go downtown so.

I will let everyone know how it goes. The normal u-uverse folks had no clue what CV was. The winback did know what it was. Your right about it being the red headed step child .

I did notice tonight the call history that was brought up in another post being on the system.

This is interesting right off the U-Verse page that talks about U-Voice »https://uma.att.com/assets/files/voice_plans.html it lists the unlimited as $30.

Also interesting is that it shows the lite 1000 minute plan at $25.

Pricing could be changing? I honestly have no idea. However, U-Voice coming to Chicagoland is right on schedule...

See, after such data is public knowledge, I can then comment on it. I have seen launch dates for various areas, but as far as the pricing and deals, well they don't tell us techs that too often... That's what sales is for...

I do know from my August in Metro Detroit that they get U-Voice Unlimited for $20/month out there, and U-Voice 1000 for $10/month. That deal is REAL HARD to pass up. The $30/$25 pricing looks about right for "regular" pricing, in my humble opinion.

Call. Again. 800-ATT-2020. Ask for U-Verse Sales. Have your U-Verse Account Number (BAN) ready. Plainfield should be a go, as it is served out of the Chicago VHO.

If you keep getting told "no," ask to speak to a manager. If you keep getting "no"s, get IDs of the Reps you have spoken to, and then post up in AT&T Direct here at dslreports.com. U-Verse Voice has launched for Chicagoland/Northeastern IL.

Here we go... I'm on with 888-803-2456 right now. When I ask if it is available they say, "YES, sure is". Then when we get to the phone number screen they get an error message that won't let them give me a number... there is not a list of Plainfield numbers. They conclude at this point that it's not available. But then why at the beginning does it appear to be available? What's the issue?? It even is a choice for me online to order, but same thing happens when I get to the phone number screen.. tells me that I can't order online yet and to call 888-803-2456.

HELP!

We think it's that they don't have a list of Plainfield numbers yet. Told me to call back in 48 hours - they put a ticket in
