@rr.com | [TWC] 15/2 speed tier in SoCal yet???
I was just wondering if anyone in the SoCal area has a 15/2 RR Turbo connection. Does anybody know if a 15/2 upgrade will be available to the rest of SoCal any time soon? |

| Only those in an area competing with FIOS have 15/2. The rest of us have 10/1.
And since they just introduced PowerBoost, and they got their engineers fixing up old Adelphia networks just to be able to offer 12 more HD channels.... I wouldn't bank on anything happening this year.
Next year. Maybe. |

I have been seeing 15-20/1 for the past week in the Orange, CA area ... it was 10/1 That is due to a new gimmick called "powerboost", which pretty much renders your speedtests unusable. Try a sustained download, e.g. the 450 Mb Vista SP1 from microsoft.com, and you will see it will start off very fast, but withing 30 seconds it will stay steady at around 1150 to 1250 kbyte/s, which is the maximum speed of a 10/1 connection. |

Thaks for the insight, I figured that's what it was, just couldn't find any info or explanation for the jump. -- RoadRunner,XP/Vista and my "Linky network" |

@rr.com | reply to SoCalResident1 Time Warner has about 2 million customers in the Los Angeles area. I wish Time Warner would upgrade Socal soon. It would be great to have 15/2. |
