There is a very small percentage of areas in socal that gets 15/2. Wish they would expand it though. |

| reply to SoCalResident1 I'm in Glendora and believe I have the 15/2 tier. It's not all its cracked up to be in my area though (I think I'm in old Adelphia territory). I have the Turbo tier and also have phone service and 2 dvr's. The phone and internet are served by an ARRIS modem.

Average speed test results for late morning to early evening:
And finally average speeds from 7pm to ~1am:
I miss FIOS in my old apartment but it's not offered in Glendora yet. Perhaps in your area when they deploy 15/2 it will operate more consistently. |

| reply to SoCalResident1 It seems the only areas that get 15/2 are those areas that have the options to drop TW and get FiOS. So basically, by the time an area gets 15/2 from TW, it will be useless because we'll just move on to FiOS anyway. TW has the resources to do the upgrading now, they are just an awful company like every other cable company that basically profits of those that either don't have any other option (monopoly) or those that have other options but are too ignorant to realize there are better alternatives out there (Same people that still use Internet Explorer, AOL, etc.) So Time Warner is basically banking on dummies... |

| reply to skreed I'm sure it'll come eventually. Judging from the monthly (weekly?) "what's wrong in Socal" threads, their network just isn't quite ready for it yet.
TW Los Angeles is so painfully behind. Below average internet speeds compared to other major TW regions, poor HD channel selection, outdated/un-unified set top technology (where's Mystro? multi-room DVR?), VOIP lacks features like "locate me" included with other providers. Sigh. I know they can't snap their fingers and have it all done, but there's so much missed potential across the board.

| Based on the article on the main page today "Time Warner upgrades to be Surgical", it sounds like only a select few of us will get the 15/2. If FIOS doesn't move into our areas, TW doesn't care to upgrade their infrastructure for us either.
I totally agree with GuyInLA, it sucks to pay the same amount for 10/1 as others are paying for 15/2. |
