That's total bull. You know, your complaints are actually starting to get a little retarded.... You are invoking the "boy cries wolf" scenario here, pretty soon no one is going to believe you.
I thought he was exaggerating until the new HD channels landed in Valencia.

TW areas vary - some have SDV, some don't have analog expanded basic. In those areas the HD PQ may be just fine. But here in Valencia - we have neither of those bandwidth saving tricks, and the HD quality has suffered horribly since those new channels were added. I just pray it's temporary.

Why are you staying with TWC for television anyways? Put a dish on your roof, they have the socalled better HD not?

I notice a speed bump in the last week or so. I hope it stays at this speed.

Only those in an area competing with FIOS have 15/2. The rest of us have 10/1.

And since they just introduced PowerBoost, and they got their engineers fixing up old Adelphia networks just to be able to offer 12 more HD channels.... I wouldn't bank on anything happening this year.

Next year. Maybe.
all they did was compress the other channels 50% more to get the other "12 channels"

I thought they would care because they are losing customers to Fios.
TWC is gaining more phone customers from Verizon than losing cable customers to Verizon because TWC has phone service availabile in a much larger area than Verizon has FIOS available.

Any clue about Oxnard? Fios was recently deployed in Oxnard, but my address doesn't qualify =[.

"...will stay steady at around 1150 to 1250 kbyte/s, which is the maximum speed of a 10/1 connection." Since thats what I'm paying for I guess I don't really have much to complain about.

Thaks for the insight, I figured that's what it was, just couldn't find any info or explanation for the jump.

Maartena ... I have been seeing 15-20/1 for the past week in the Orange, CA area ... it was 10/1
That is due to a new gimmick called "powerboost", which pretty much renders your speedtests unusable. Try a sustained download, e.g. the 450 Mb Vista SP1 from microsoft.com, and you will see it will start off very fast, but withing 30 seconds it will stay steady at around 1150 to 1250 kbyte/s, which is the maximum speed of a 10/1 connection.
