anon : They seem to want to blame it on the dongle but it is something that is happening on there side. I am not using the dongle at all now and if I disable then reenable the CF it works 1 maybe 2 times to my cell phone. What is happening. The user calling hears nothing and then a sound similar to a busy signal. The cell phone hears and sees a number that it is being caled from butwhen you answer it, there is nothing there. Once your are online for a few seconds the call is diconnected. If you forward your number to a land line then that land line to your cell phone. The same thing happens. It works 1, maybe 2 times or so then it goes right back to the same issue. It did work fine for a long time and all of a sudden it stopped working. I think MJ needs to back track and see if they made a change to there system. Lucky for me I work with several people that have MJ and other cell carriers. I talked them into buying MJ. So we have teskked all by T-mobile cell phones and the result is the same. We have also used MJ's that have different area codes. This rules out alot of issues blamed on the area and the cell carriers. By the way, my group of people I work with are all Senior Systems Engineers, so I think we have a pretty good handle on troubleshooting differnet steps. I wouldn't rule out everything but I think we covered a pretty large range of possible problem area's that MJ would probably want to point the finger at.

I think they are having issues that they are not able to fix right now but my account is just like yours.
anon : Is anyone else having the same recent problems with call forwarding?

Yes Jim! I cannot call any cell phones directly at all. I am using Verizon internet DSL service and it appears Verizon is not letting me call any cell phones with MagicJack but landlines are still ok and i can receive calls from cell phones. This is just one of the many problems i have been having with this glitched service. I have found that terribly slow connections like Verizons 768 DSL does not help the products performance either.

Both parties can hear the call waiting beep on the line and sometimes it wont switch over without disconnecting the other caller. I also get "pulsating" rings through my cordless telephones and if i try to answer while the cordless is ringing i hear the artificial telephone ring through the earpeice until i hit the flash button.
This happened on my corded telephone as well. Voice mail also lags sometimes with dead air before a caller can leave a message or sounds like a garbled robot when announcing the outgoing message.

If im surfing the net, sometimes i receive no calls at all. If i log out of verizon dsl, if i have watched too many youtube videos or cnn online and pick up the telephone to make a call, the phone is dead because my computers hard drive is frantically running to acknowlege the receiver has been picked up! This is only corrected by using ccleaner and dumping all temp files and folders, ect. It appears magicjack may be using some kind of hidden cache that only gets cleared out through ccleaner or other programs.

That explains magicjacks technical support teams obsession with restarts of magicjack and restarts of your computer. They also recommend frequent cache clearing and modem restarts. Just not a good design, period.
