·Pacific Bell - SBC
| said by JTS33 :What happened when you migrated to SBC Yahoo? I thought if you don't use the service, you won't even notice you have it. It's that way with Verizon with MSN Premium. All 'pacbell.net' (my email domain) email has to be picked up through 'pop.att.yahoo.com'. They actually prefer that we also use 'smtp.att.yahoo.com'; but Yahoo! doesn't want us using their server as a "Smarthost". There is actually no current prohibition against running an MTA in the 'at&t Yahoo! HSI' AUP/TOS, but if one does so, using the ISP server as a "Smarthost" is essential. Yahoo! requires each sender email address, which is not the same as the one used to log in to the server, be "verified". The procedure is not onerous, but there is a limit of ten email addresses allowed, not associated with the accounts.
It has caused numerous problems for several customers. Anyway, because of that particular issue, I recommend against a Yahoo! co-branded account, if you can avoid it. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
