Mountain to increase speed to 7 Mbps

But the cost starting November 1st will be $2 more/month. I don't know if the speed increase will start on that date or has already been applied as I'm still getting around 6 Mbps.
They are also increasing their TV cable by $2/month and themes by $2 but are decreasing the digital phone by $1/month if you bundle.

WTF.. So to move from 5mbps to 7mbps it has cost $3

From 39.95 to 40.95, now 42.95??
Why wouldn't they just make another tier for more money.
Not too happy..especially with the increase in cable.. :huh
at least it isn't 45$, but this better be the last price increase for a long while..

Emailed Mountain Cable, they confirmed it. 7mbps on the 1st of November for the extra $2.

Any idea if the upload rate is going up as well or is it just the download rate?

Pretty crummy that MC is dragging their heels on the speed issue. My cousin in northern ontario pays less than MC fees and gets 25/2 connection.

Who is their service provider?

If its Shaw you're thinking of, their Nitro service is 25/1 for $93/month when bundled with any other Shaw service and $101.95/month as a standalone service, which also comes with a 150 GB/month cap.

Looking at my speed tests it looks like they implemented the speed increase already.
