our site owner justin is having a hell of a time with his in brooklyn. it's more points to the network.
I have no problems in Brooklyn & The Bronx & Manhattan with my Nokia E71 or my old Nokia N95 & AT&T Tilt

Even my father is having problems with his iPhone 3g here in NYC.

It's a combination of a shitty phone and badly placed towers.

Latest info says it's at&t having network issues, not the iPhones.
No problems here in New york city
3.5g is stable and I never see edge.
I'm guessing in rural areas it's a problem

It's actually AT&T crap ass network.
Agreed. I had no idea AT&T's 3G deployment was so horrible until recently, after buying an iPhone 3G. Initially I assumed it was Apple's problem, but as I began complaining around friends with other 3G phones on AT&T, I heard the same complaints from them as well.

The ubiquity of 3G hardware is meaningless in the absence of a robust 3G network to support it.

I've got an old piece of shit RAZR that works incredibly with AT&T's so-called 'crap-ass' network. I've never had an issue with AT&T's network, even with 3G (on my N95).

Plus the Blackberry Bold is having the same problem with AT&T garbage network.
Blackberries have always been shitty with RF
this is nothing new

I've had 2

Ever since I switched to Nokias and Ericcsons I've never had a dropped call or net timeouts.

Here is video proof of the terrible rf the iPhone comes with

Wrong again
nobody else but people with the iPhone are the ones having a problem.

Apple reduced the frequency the phone operates on to conserve battery life. Hence why people are dropping calls and can barely hold a 3g signal

This is old news at most mobile websites

You really think a majority of US 3G users are iPhone users? The iPhone sold much better than we all could have guessed, then...

A shame a majority of these users are iPhone users who can't use the 3g because of a major design flaw in the device.
