Re: Wiring Question for FTTN Kinda depends on how they utilized the existing Cat5 run from the Nid to the RG.
I was recently installed (Uverse with VOIP) and ran cat5 from the RG area to the NID and another to the phone block in the cellar.
The installer decided to just use two separate pairs on the Cat5 to the NID to a) feed the RG, and b) backfeed the phone to the nid and then from there back into the original phone line to the cellar. So my run from the RG area to the phone block in the basement was un-needed.
You can probably check what pairs are used in it out at the NID, and also how those pairs are terminated at the existing jack. |
