Sad to think that we have to ask questions like this, huh?

If my math is correct, you would need to use greater than 768kbps of data non-stop for the entire month to exceed 250GB in one month.

I'd like to see Comcast release what percentage of their users currently use more than 250GB/month so that way we will know how many of their users they will be terminating

Does not matter if it is 250gb or 1gb, if you are impacting other users the can terminate you. They may give you notice, or they may not. -- Its all in the AUP/TOS

I haven't seen any practical examples where this kind of use would hit anywhere near the cap. High-Quality HD streaming could reasonably hit the cap, but not the highly-compressed stuff you see on YouTube.

It doesn't matter if it's 25 bps or simply one packet. Speed is not a factor. This is both standard and necessary. If you're being malicious, you ought to be kicked. If you're an innocent victim and unknowingly doing this, Comcast doesn't have to try to keep you as a customer but there is goodwill in doing so.

Rofl Not even close. If all you're dong is youtubeing and gaming, you probably won't break 20GB/mo. You could have 5 youtube streams going 24/7 and you might bump up against the cap. If you start streaming HD to multiple TVs 24/7, then you might have issues.

Re: curius

Thanks for making my point for me. 6 gigs isn't anywhere close to 250 gigs, and games use much less bandwidth than a youtube video stream.
