I barely manage to squeak by with 3 meg, due to distance, but it is nice to see them cranking up speed.

Wish they would implement a pure play IP network and get rid of PPPoE and ATM, yielding a 10% speed improvement at same modem sync rate.

The article also says that FairPoint has finally picked a new name for FIOS since that is a Verizon trademark. They are calling FIOS FAST. Wow must have spend big bucks on market research. I completely missed what they were talking about my first read of the article.
