The real architects of the Enron Scandal are already in jail. The executives mentioned in the article were second level executives who were at best accessories to the crime and at worst simple puppets of the real criminals.

Lets be clear, the description implies that the key players in Enron haven't been convicted and they have. A greater separation needs to be made between Enron the corporate parent and Enron Broadband, the child company which was a minor fraction of the main company and had much less impact on the failure of the main company than you imply in the description. Enron Broadband was conceived in the last few months of the Enron saga and in fact played a very minor role in the stock price compared to the energy assets.
