| Why is there no need to enter your PPPoE username after...
I reset my modem, then disabled the Walled Garden, and was surprised to see that I could surf the internet immediately, without even entering my PPPoE username and password into the modem. Wow! It's great, but I don't understand it: explain to me how it's possible to connect to the internet without entering the correct PPPoE username and password. The same thing happens if I set the modem to the bridge mode. I don't have to enter the right PPPoE password (not sure yet about the username in this situation) into the dir-655 router to connect to the internet. Who can explain this greatness to me? |

It's called OpenPPPoE. In theory, any username and password should work in an Open PPPoE system.
