Sorry if I confused all, but was trying to say to you, you may not need to spend the extra $$'s for a 120Hz set. And that is how we got off track :-)

Someone earlier in the thread suggested to avoid an LCD without 120Hz processing as motion blur would occur in fast moving action sequences. I brought up that unless you see, and some people don't, judder in MOVIES the 120HZ doesn't make a difference over a 60Hz set for just motion blur.

If you have the extra bucks, go for the gold, 1080p, 120hz, etc. but if you are saving $$'s you have to pick and choose the features that will benefit your type of use and viewing, not the ...see my TV's specs bragging rights.... But .. I think the 120Hz feature mostly or only has to do with resolving what is called "judder" from movies, which are filmed at 24 frames per second. 24fps doesn't divide into either 30fps or 60fps evenly. But it does into 120fps, so you get an even, more smooth picture.

So unless you are watching a MOVIE source via DVD, Blu-Ray, or HD-DVD, from what I have read 120Hz doesn't do much or anything for normal motion blur.

I'm curious as to why? Just make sure it has plenty of external hookups. Component for the DVD player, composite for the VCR, and SVideo for the Dish. Then you'd just need the single RF input for the OTA signals.

Probably depends on the room setting, i.e. how much "light" there is. If we watch a movie, the blinds are closed and any lighting will be behind or beside the TV, *never* in "front" of the TV where it can reflect off the screen.
