Will we get 2 20 win pitchers? We are definitely going to have 2 200+ K pitchers. Only 8 pitchers in the Majors even hit the 200+ K mark last year.

Last year Sabathia and Carmona both hit 19 wins on the same team, Lackey and Escobar had 19 and 18.

2 pitchers haven't won 20 games on the same team since 2002 when Schilling and Big Unit had 23 and 24 and Derek Lowe and Pedro Martinez had 21 and 20.

I am also giving a huge thumbs up to the Blue Jays. I received a letter asking me to renew my flex pack for next year and thanking me. Inside there was 4 $29 tickets to see the second last game of the year against the Yankees! Considering I already got 11 games for the price of 10 plus the numerous other giveaways (ticket upgrade, bobblehead doll, t-shirt) 4 more tickets really felt like a nice gesture from the Jays and I think I will buy the flex pack for next season especially since they look like they could really take it next year if it doesn't happen this year.

That's an understatement. The Jays pitching staff is downright scary.

Starters:
Halladay - Argueably the best in the game on a consistent basis.
Burnett - THE best in the game when he's focussed.
McGowan - Hallady-esque. High powered power pitcher.
Marcum - Was a top 2 or 3 pitcher in the league before he went down with an injury. Pinpoint accuracy.
Litsch - Great control, not over powering, but has been very effective for the past 2 years.
Purcey - Has 2 times in a row completely dominated the Rays, the best team in baseball. Has a promising future.

Relievers:
Carlson - Scary left-handed who has been almost perfect this year.
Camp - Effective, but nothing special pitcher.
Frasor - Although likely gone next year, very hard throwing effective righty.
Tallet - Another scary Left handed pitcher. The way him and Carlson throw across their bodies is very very tough for a lefty to hit.
Downs - has been lights out all year.
League - Remerging finally to regain his pre-extra muscle form. Could be a consistent 100mph pitcher next year. I don't care how good you are, you have to start you swing before the ball even leaves his hands to catch up with 100mph. Get him a good 10mph drop speed change, and he'll be unhittable.
Ryan - Effective, although, interesting left hander. he gets the job done, even if it seems like he doesn't. And he's a scary presence.

With Downs, League and Ryan going 6, 7 and 8, Playing the Jays will be a 6 inning game like it was in the early 90's with Henke, Ward and Timlin.

Let's not forget, this is the best staff in baseball currently. McGowan has been out since June(?). Accardo had 30 saves last year and has only pitched 12 innings this season. Janssen was a 2.35 era setup man that hasn't pitched a single ball this year. With those 3 coming back into full seasons, you have a very very powerful pitching staff.

Here's hoping AJ sticks around.

Hey, the Rockies pulled of 14 of the last 15 to win last year...so...it has happenned. Its pretty crazy, but exciting to say the least.

Whether its a la leafs, which honestly, you have more than 1/2 the teams make the playoffs so they should be in, vs. baseball where you only have 4 from each division make it...its definitely difficult to make the post-season in Baseball.

But here's to hoping, never give up hope...and I only believe because when they were losing to Tampa 4-3 in the 13th, they could have easily packed it in, especially with 2 outs...but they battled back...so...maybe its their time?...

And maybe if they magically make it, AJ will say "Hey, this team when were on all cylinders is going good...I'll stick around for the next 2 years...". If they don't go 7-0...then they're done like dinner...

In theory, it has to go a little something like this. The Jays still have 7 games left against Boston. If the Jays go 7-0 and sweep Boston, both 4 in Boston and 3 in Toronto, they would have a legitimate shot at it as that'd leave them just 1 game back of Boston (not-withstanding what Minnesota does).

If they don't go 7-0...then they're done like dinner...

The odds of going 7-0 are remote, but it is Baseball, the game where you can be down 4-3 in the bottom of the 13th with 2 outs and still SOMEHOW win 7-4....Show me any other sport where that can happen. 3.53 team ERA and in third place, too bad the Jays offense didn't showup this year. Looks like no one in the lineup is going to reach 80RBI's this year.

Very slight.. Minnesota is in a free fall, but there's no indication that boston is going to lose a whole bunch in a row which is what would have to happen.

Jays need to win almost all 20 and need some serious help for them make it.
