<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1501267"><b>silvercat</b></A> : hey Guspaz:<br><br>I kinda disagree that his line would not be able to handle 5 mbit fastpath.  Currently, i'm on 4032/800 fastpath, with stats worse than a4syed's (worse in the sense of downstream CRC's), and for the most part, my line is okay, with little stability issues.  My noise margins are currently 9 down / 11 up.  It's very possible that a4syed has a bridge tap somewhere along the way, if the internal wiring is okay.  A bell tech told me that there is a bridge tap on my line.<br><br>If my line is relatively stable on fastpath, with worse stats than a4syed's, i'm sure the line can handle 5 mbit fastpath.  Wouldn't hurt to call teksavvy tech support, and ask to have it bumped up.  Another possibility of course, is that the line was recently activated (and defaults to 3 mbit), and if that's the case, it should very soon be bumped up to 5 mbit, hopefully.<br><br>BTW, i have the same 2wire 2701.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/510249"><b>Guspaz</b></A> : Your 2wire reports these stats in a much more friendly format elsewhere...<br><br>You're synced at 3008/800 (you're on a 3 meg profile), and your max attainable is most recently 6844/1020, dipping as low as 5740 (possibly lower, that's the lowest I saw).<br><br>Your line has a fair number of errors, and cannot reliably support a 5 meg profile in fastpath. Possibly with interleaved; I'm tempted to say you should be on interleaved even at 3 meg.<br><br>Your downstream attenuation is 24.6, and your downstream noise margin is not available from that data, far as I can tell.<br><br>Considering how low your downstream attenuation is, I'm tempted to say there's something wrong with your setup; you're relatively close to the CO, so you should be getting better performance than you are. Are all your telephones/fax machines/dialup modems/satellite receivers/alarm systems/etc. filtered? Have you tried connecting you modem at the demarc?]]></description>
