anon : I don't plan on DIRECTV, I had them and canceled. They don't offer Local from SI Prog . I hope the FCC doesnt wait to long on a ruling and hope that article gave us a hint, it says FALL, and FAll is right around the corner. I am waiting for 4 things from Verizon, MSG HD, MSG + HD, And Staten Island Local Programming, FIOS 1, which is all seen on TW Cable (NY 1). FIOS 1 will be in NYC Area I am told late 2008 early 2009. I have to see also what Staten Island programming will be carried on FIOS. It will be on FIOS, as what I know, it was in the NYC Contract, a major factor at the NYC Public Hearing and to be competitive.
I am also waiting for the Knicks, Rangers, Isles and Devils live on SD Quality of MSG and MSG Plus. How is the quality of LiVE Events? I Just hope all this comes into play soon.
Thanks
Billy
Staten Island NY

JohnA :
Eventually Verizon will get it. CV is just stalling as long as possible, for competitive advantage. Verizon, for some reason prefers the FCC route to the courts. At any time they have the option of an anti-trust suit. Content deliverers who also own content are required to operate the ownership side as if it's a separate business. Not selling content is seen as anti-competitive behavior (except under the terrestrial ruling), as they are seen to be passing up income, to favor the delivery side of their business.

anon : If MSG HD and MSG + HD does NOT appear on FIOS, then I will have to go back to Time Warner. I heard numerous people went back to their Cable Op to get RSN in HD , that are not on FIOS. Also the SD picture is about the same on FIOS as TW Cable, and Phone / Internet is about the same too. Also I have to see what or if any Staten island programming will be on FIOS, I am a fan of it , and what is seen on Time Warner Cable. TWC has Caller ID on TV too, Verizon does not. Hopefully TIme Warner will add Wireless to the TWC like Verizon / Verizon Wireless so I can have ONE Bill. , like I do with Verizon now. Verizon HD wins over TWC , but HD On TWC is a pass, its not all that bad.
