MrBabou : I think what happened is that even though the cancellation date was the 6th, since the switch was not ordered before the 8th, Bell did not 'release' the line before the 8th. I wasn't able to connect to TSI before 22h45 on the 8th, so that might be what happened.

Anyway, that is resolved and passed. Now if I could only get this Tomato/MLPPP working correctly.... Right now, my speeds are worse than before, for torrents and web... :(

Switching from Bell (yes another!) - but is this normal?

MrBabou : Hi all,

My contract was to end last Saturday (september 6th), so I cancelled it (more than a month ago), and set the installation date with Teksavvy for today, Monday Sept. 8th (since they don't do it during the weekend). We were out of the house from Saturday morning to Sunday evening, so we were expecting Bell to be gone by then, and we'd have no internet. Well, when we came back, we still had the Internet... I called Bell, and they told me that my account was indeed marked as being calcelled, and it could take from 6 to 12 hours to actually take affect. I thought, even though we got disconnected at midnight on Saturday, it was more than 12 hours past when I called. But I just thought that maybe it's just taking longer for some reason.

Well, we are now Monday morning, and we still have the internet. Today is the day TSI is supposed to connect me. My worry: will this affect TSI's installation? Will it prevent them from doing it?
