 | Who cares? Who cares huh? You all are fighting over who has a better connection. Its cable and dsl subscribers who are the reason why there are millions without this "Dying technology" because you guys keep complaining about 512k and 3 MB connections or whatever.
Meanwhile I am 2 miles. 2 MILES outside from city limits. for 7 years AT&T saying 3 more months dsl will be out there. I would give anything. ANYTHING for a 250K connection. Beats dial - up 19.5kb and satellite which is usually about 60kb during the day. Stop your complaining. People can't get dsl or cable because the cable and dsl companies are trying to make the beauty queens happy. Don't say move either. Firstly no one can afford a house in our economy. Secondly no one wants one where there is no high speed internet ask that guy above. Lastly I am 17!
I have never in my life been able to watch videos online, download anything, play a single game online, update our computers and we have like 5, download email attachments and im lucky if we can even surf the web during the day.
Everyone who has dsl or cable are LUCKY! I keep hearing something like there making AT&T bring dsl to everyone in 2008 I think its lie I have never read that or heard it from a reliable source. Were stuck here and have no high speed, yet people are complaining about a poor 512KB.
Come stay here for 4 weeks bing your game systems and everything and try satellite. 300MBs a day, your lucky if you get 60KB and that's assuming the satellite works which half the time it don't. Anyways sorry but makes me mad when people argue of their speeds. Id give anything for this "dying technology" and so would millions of other people. |

 | bravo well said great post just give me a 1.5 dsl connection for a reasonable price that's all i want too.who do you use Hughes or wild blue.i use Hughes and was paying 80.00 a month for 1.5mb 375 threshold, and just downgraded back to home plan 1.0mb 200 mb threshold
i got tired of paying for speed i never ever got until after midnight.IM still paying for speed i don't get. i average about 815kbps and down to about 200 during peak times, but at least IM saving 20 bucks a month, but i do have to say the reduced threshold hurts thank god for the fapmon. |

 | We have stupid Hughes too. For about 4 hours a day about 9-1 am the satellite don't even work. Comes up a bunch of red flags and everything. All they say is were sorry should clear up in a few minutes and its rare this happens. BS is what that is.
They have a monopoly going and the stupid FCC who can die for all I care because they don't care about us in rural America. Our bandwidth caps are ridiculous and so are the speeds.
Not only that, but I think they should be investigated. Because every time I try and go to bell south or Verizon or any internet company I swear the pages don't load. They just stop and every now and then it will come up saying there is a error with the satellite yet I will have tab open surfing another page and it works fine.
And I hear there blocking people from playing WoW with other MMO's yet the FCC can get mad at Comcast for throttling people on Peer to Peer networks.
So I asked a few people and they said the same thing happens to them. Hughes needs to be shut down and the FCC needs to stop focusing on Comcast owning 33% of the market and stop focusing on TV and address the millions who don't have affordable broadband and good speeds reliable service and reasonable bandwidth caps.
