Use the monitor controls to shrink the vertical height... you oughttta eventually see it.

HANDY HINT: You can run "just about anything that can be run", by Ctrl-Alt-Del, to bring up the Task Manager, click the "Applications" tab (if need be), and there is a button on the bottom that says "New Task...".

Can he bring task manager and C if anything sucking up CPU power?

I would try a CHKDSK before.

While reformat/reinstall is a ultimate trump card, I only use it as last sort. Make sure he backups his data and make sure he has everything for a reformat, install CD, apps, drivers, keys, etc...

He called Dell and they went throgh a "Repair" install after backing up his files. All was fine until the next day when he went to re-boot his machine. After the re-boot there is no Taskbar showing and he cannot open some programs when clicking its icon. Is there a fix for this or just reformat?
