Re: LOL WUT

Where i live, everything is around us. The AT&T center is less then 5 miles away from my house, Alot of neighborhoods and all the stores like walmart, gamestop, subway, jack in the b0x, gas stations, and m0ar are like 3 miles away. We got some land with cattle and their is an officer there, Its like 2 miles away and they get time warner cable but what do we get, Power and plain old telephone. I talked to that att guy today and he said he dont know when dsl will be out here. I guess ill just have to wait and look outside every morning and look for some new lines on the telephone pole out on the road........

You're talking about a moving target though. Comcast's middle of the road offering (the one they advertise on TV, print, etc.) has been in the $40-45 range for as long as I can remember around here, and I've seen similar price points in many other US markets.

When 3/256 was the highest, it was $60 mo, and 1.5/256 was like $50 or so. Then when they went to 6/768 as the highest, they priced it at $60 and moved the 3/256 down to the $50. (Prices are a guess, I cant remember what the exact cost was 5yrs ago)

Though you do have a point, when we signed up for service after we moved, the 8/1 is ~$70mo where as the 6/768 is ~$60mo, and when I lived in Panama City, the 6/768 was ~$60mo. I was just hoping they would continue the previous trend of replacing the previous highest speed with the new highest speed at the same price point.

whats the use of having faster internet? I think a few mb's up and down should be good for everyone. Just watch, In a few months, they are going to say their network is overloaded and then they are gona place caps.

And for me, All i get is dial up and time warner are going to make it faster where people already have high speed internet. why not extend to people who dont have no high speed internet? Im not in the middle of nowhere you know...
They already have caps.

(And yes, 8/1 is enough for my household, its just that if there were higher tiers, I'd probably pay less for my 8/1)
Why on earth would you think that? It certainly doesn't sound like a Comcast strategy to me.

What do you mean San Antone isnt in the middle of no where? I mean, its not like you guys have a few major theme parks, a major sports franchise, a major military base(?), Sea World, The Alamo, etc.

Oh, wait...

Seriously though, I just moved to Huntsville, AL, supposedly one of the largest concentrations of engineers and high tech business/manufacturing in the country, and the best I can get out of CC is 8/1. I would think with all the high tech jobs here we'd be getting some of CC's better plans, but then again, at least its 8/1. (And yes, 8/1 is enough for my household, its just that if there were higher tiers, I'd probably pay less for my 8/1)
