perfectly explains why we need more competition

Want to increase broadband speeds? Make sure there is more competition there.

Someone has to make the first move, though. If Verizon hadn't done FIOS, Time Warner could take their sweet time everywhere, and not spend the money on upgrades. The more companies competing, the more likely it is that someone will move first.
