Re: HAH said by hopeflicker:said by halo5:LOL! So you can hit their 5gig cap in 3 hours instead of 6! I just came over from the FIOS forum and some users are claiming that they are gobbling up multiple terabytes of bandwidth up and down. LOL You may laugh now, but those are the very people who are going to ruin FIOS for us like they did cable. If that keeps up, caps will be imposed without a doubt. -- If history teaches us anything, it teaches that simple-minded appeasement or wishful thinking about our adversaries is folly. -Ronald Reagan-

Either way, those of us with the good fortune to have FiOS may as well enjoy it while we can. |

 | The same, no as cable is node based. But congestion on a network, yes it can happen regardless of transport.
No matter how they are doing it, if they see people abusing it, especially of all you "online backeruppers, Linux Distro distributers, and daily machine rebuild guys that have to download patches all the time", they will eventually do something as it still cost them.
So yes, you guys that will take all you can as long as you can enjoy your gluttony now. |

| reply to Skippy25 Sure, congestion can happen on any network. Even with seriously heavy use, I think it would be really hard (maybe even impossible) for a single subscriber to severly disrupt service for other subscribers on a pure fiber network like what happens on a hybrid cable network.
Keep in mind, cost isn't the reason Comcast has given over the years for implementing the cap. Then again, how much is a liar's word worth?
