We'll check it out in a week when we're both back in our respective cities. <br><br>She has disconnected and reconnected several times (I know they rebooted the modem this past weekend). Since she takes her notebook to work every day, that I presume would be a disconnect and reconnect also.<br><br>She has tried the "telnet mail.xxxxx.com 25" many times, it always fails. (When I do it from my computer it works fine, so I'm sure the syntax she is using is correct). <br><br>She is able to send emails now using gmail, so at least she's up and running and can send mail, rather than just receive it. <br><br>Now I need to go figure out how to set DSLreports to email me if I get an IM, since I missed a few. Then she tries the telnet command and it doesn't connect. <br><br>Given Zak's comments above, I doubt that the support personnel are able to open it while she's talking to them. <br><br>If port 25 cannot be opened for her account, please let me know!!<br><br>If it can be opened, please let **ME** know when it is opened, so I can set her mail account accordingly (having support call her in this instance is not as useful). <br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Julie]]></description>

Click Start then select Control Panel.<br><br>2. Select Programs and Features.<br><br>3. Select Turn Windows features on or off.<br><br>4. Select the Telnet Client option.<br><br>5. Click OK.<br><br>6. A dialog box will appear to confirm installation. The telnet command should now be available.<br><br> ]]></description>

She's not totally stuck, since she can send mail using webmail, just not through Outlook. <br><br>If you can tell me what **should** be working at this point I'll lead her through the settings. I have already opened a ticket to have port 25 opened on the account. You can select the Manage Firewall link under the Internet tab once logged into the Members section.
