Order DSL online/via the phone and pay $60 to have it installed by the next day...
Call Charter and pick up a self-install kit/obtain my own modem and have my Internets activated same day...for free...

Charter ........ Service down so often that my dad quit calling for a credit. Down for days at a time and at least twice a week .......... The quick install doesn't justify it ..... |

But if you are a new customer, then you need a tech visit to either 1) connect the drop or 2) remove filters.
But yea, being able to do a self install with cable is a major plus. The fact that you can literally be up and running within minutes of purchasing/receiving your cable modem makes it so much easier to leave DSL immediately. |
