Without FIOS in your area yet, it won't help you much, but here goes anyway:<br><br>With our triple play (we had long ago expired our "special" intro offer), we were paying about $180/month with Silver or Gold (can't remember which), OOL and OV.  That's with the taxes.  I believe it was actually closer to $185.<br><br>Anyway, FIOS salesman comes to my door.  For giggles and hoots, I asked a bunch of questions and had him come back the next day with the answers.  Most of them were the wrong answer, as I had researched already online.<br><br>Well, longer story short, I signed up with him.  After he left, I called CV and spoke with retentions.  I gave them my FIOS order number, which they confirmed somehow.  They offered me $50 a month off.  Which I gladly accepted :-)<br><br>Then I called and cancelled my FIOS order within minutes.<br><br>Nice, eh?]]></description>

Last night I ordered Verizon, got the order number, called CV this morning, and chose Disconnect Service in the options. Long story short, he asked me for the order # put me on hold and came back with a MUCH better offer that I even had before!! TP pricing, free DVR for the year and HBO, STARZ, and ENCORE for the year as well... The price... $116.95 with taxes included he said. So now I hope I have no problems canceling the FIOS order and see what happens next year! Hope this helps anyone trying to get their bill lowered. ]]></description>

When that finally ended I placed an order to switch to FIOS and guess what, they offered me the triple play for a good deal less than FIOS ($95 total including two cable cards and HD DVR and boost).  They even paid the $99 for my ETF from FIOS internet.  Of course when this one year agreement ends I will be hit up for the DVR and boost as well as the increase in base prices but you know what, I will then switch to FIOS at the intro rate and port my number.  I will just keep going back and forth every year and get the intro rates each time.  It works like a charm.  I will tell you this, as long as you play hardball but are not a moron CV will usually work with you.  Their retention dept is outstanding.  Verizon's retention are a bunch of morons with ZERO pricing power.  They were like "are you sure you want to leave" and I was like "f*ck yeah".  If you want my business you have to pay up and by that I mean discounts.  I am never paying over $100 for all three services again.  Now with this economy people will be dropping extras like TV packages and boxes left and right and this should help us bargain hunters out even more.]]></description>

This is now the second day of the nightmare with your service. <br><br>I was given an install date of September 13 between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.  The tech. Came around 5:00 PM, and did a great job installing everything.  Everything worked; he then gave me the intro to all the services and answered all my questions.  I tipped the man $60 for his outstanding work.  No more than 30 minutes after the tech left my house, the DVR function was not working.  I called customer support, and they told me that someone would be there by 8:00 PM.  When the time came, I called and they told me to wait a while longer; I waited until 10:00 PM, then went to bed.  I called this morning at 9:50 AM, and explained what happened.  The representative told me that this would &#147;get done today,&#148; and I informed her that I had to leave my house to attend my son&#146;s basketball game by 3:00 PM.  The rep. told me that it would not be a problem, and that they &#147;would&#148; get it done before 3:00.  I just called and was told that the tech &#147;could&#148; get here some time before 8:00 PM TONIGHT!<br><br>I would like to know why I was a prisoner in my own home for the past two days.  I work almost 75 hours a week, and enjoy my weekends immensely, but my weekend was taken away.  Someone has either lied to me or is just incompetent.<br><br>OH, IT IS NOW 8:00 PM SUNDAY and NOTHING!  Who says the "tripple play" is such a good deal???????]]></description>

The rep has your name, address and telephone number...so they can do that.  If they see FiOS in your area, they'll usually do something for you.  If not, you'll probably have to actually go to satellite and see what sort of win-back deal they are willing to give you.  CV knows that most people are not willing to go through that trouble to save a few bucks a month.<br><br>The only exception to the above is if you are not already a triple-play customer, they'll offer you a promo to upgrade to all 3 services.]]></description>
