Re: Coin Dealers in NYC

I didn't say it was illegal to sell it, I said its illegal to make it of coins in circulation. From my understanding coin jewlery that they sold is made of Mutilated coins that the tresurary department recycles.

It is not illegal to buy or sell coin jewelry. ShopNBC and the other shopping networks do it all the time. Proof is below. They are selling a brand new US coins as jewelry.

He didn't say that by making it into jewelry he'd be defacing the coins. I could be wrong, but I think the law is against defacing the currency. There must be a way to mount a coin on a chain in some kind of holder without defacing the coin.

You may not want to publicly say you want to turn the coins into Jewlery.

That is against the law and you can be fined if they feds wanted too.

You can start calling the ones on the top of the page and ask them if they have what you need.

It is a federal offense to sell fake U.S. coins so I doubt any of them will rip you off except maybe for the price of them.
When you buy gold in most of these stores you pay a commission on it.
So make sure they give you a general idea of the price before you track all the way over to their store.
They will likely tell you with the ups and downs of gold prices they can't quote a price, just say you want an idea of the cost and not the cost.

I buy all my stuff off of Ebay.
Thanks for the help. I tried all of the places listed before I posted. Most places deal in coins that are more collectible. I found a good dealer, Stern , on W47th but I am still need one more coin. I am hoping he can get it for me next week.
