It must be for people in buiness class. In coach Air Canada doesn't give people enough room to read a book comfortably never mind opening a laptop. I was excited when I saw the AC outlet, but that ended the moment the person ahead of me reclined their seat. No chance of a laptop then.

Well yeah, you're kind of confined to using your laptop on your lap and tilting your own seat back. Forget about using the meal tray to set your laptop on. It's better than nothing at least. Plus you don't have to use it for your laptop, you can keep portable media players juiced up.
