Doctor Olds : If the DSLAM is oversubscribed/oversold then it is a matter of them buying extra bandwidth and running more capacity to the DSLAM (another fiber line) which is an investment costing a few dollars. ;)
--
What’s the point of owning a supercar if you can’t scare yourself stupid from time to time?

Tails : Well, for the past couple of weeks my internet connection has been acting a bit amiss. Web pages have been loading A LOT slower than normal, and speed tests = 1.9 megs on a good day. Download speeds fluctuate a bunch, and it's not been a HUGE problem, yet it's been QUITE annoying. I'd like to have the speed that I'm paying for. I'm accounting for overhead problems btw. I should be getting at least 2.6-2.7 megs right? Not to mention I have also been noticing that pings times spike every once in a while, up into the mid 80s, and into the 200s. My next door neighbor (uncle) has been having the same problem as I, and he's called WS 20 times about this issue (he used to be a Network contractor of some sort, has a vast amount of knowledge when dealing with networks). He ran tests and he claims it's DSLAM that's giving us trouble. Any help guys?
