| reply to SychoSly Re: How to create ISO with nero 8
Nero Burning ROM of Ahead is versatile program and is even capable of burning so called ISO files.
So how do I write ISO files?
1. Start Nero.
If Nero starts with the Wizard the choose "Close Wizard", if Nero starts with "New Compilation" select "Cancel". Now choose from the menu "File" - "Burn Image".

2. Choose files of type "All Files (*.*)" or "Images Files (*.nrg;*.iso;*.cue)"
The fileselector by default uses the Nero "Images Files (*.nrg)" filetypes, changes this to "All Files (*.*)" as shown below.
Note: Newer releases (as of version 5.5.x.x) of Nero support ISO files instantly using the filetype "Images Files (*.nrg;*.iso;*.cue)". If you have such a version, then choose this filetype instead of "All (*.*)".

3. Select the ISO file and select "Open".

4. Check foreign image settings
Nero might now prompts you with the question what settings to use (newer versions will not prompt you if not needed). I have no golden tip on how to determine these settings. I always had succes by simply clicking "OK".
5. Check the tracks and start to burn.
In the ISO file there are one or more CD-tracks, verify this by clicking the "Info" tab:

On the tab "Burn" you can start writing the CD by clicking "Write".
Well, that's all you need to do to write ISO files with Nero ... isn't it simple once you know how?
How to make an ISO copy of a CD in Nero Burning Rom? Open Nero Burning ROM. From Recorder Menu. Change recorder to image recorder. then choose copy disc from the same menu. -- Advertising is legalized lying. - H.G. Wells Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work. - Aristotle |

1 edit | reply to SychoSly Did you try Nero Burning ROM to make an ISO?
Just make sure your destination device is set to 'Image Recorder'. In the top left of the Nero Burning ROM window you will see your recorder selected by default, use the drop down box to select the Image Recorder as the destination device. This will cause any burn operation to be burned to an Image File. By default it is set to NRG image file, so when you get to the point where it prompts you to name your Image file, make sure to use the drop down box in that same window to select ISO instead of NRG. |

| reply to SychoSly Simpley when you browse to tell it where to save it etc... You can also filename.iso when saving it it may end up with a double file ext. so you will have to tell windows to show file extitions. to edit the file ext. let its do its thing and rename it. to .iso |
