photog5 : go google trace route - download thier trial, its a well known company and wont mess you up!

Its supper easy to use and see what and where your problems are - Im a dissatisfied Suddenlink user who gets TERRIBLE speeds EVERY NIGHT thru suddenlink, THEY will tell you to turn on and off your modem and they need to have someone out to check your line - (which is always ok to check on once at least) BUT THE TRUTH IS seen once you run Trace Route - your modem and router and cable to your home is most likley not to blame Suddenlink Is - run that traceroute you will see that most likley its somewhere along thier connection that the signal gets slowed way down.. I'm a gamer - so ping is what I am after - the lower the better - a month and a half ago Suddenlink was terrific! Great ! Excellent! but then BAM -super lag - ms times of 250 to 400 - timed out just going to google - this is worse than DIAL up Im worked up a little right now cause I just got home from work and want to play - but I cant - I can however go to places like this and halp inform people that they and thier equipment are not necisarily the ones to blam for poor performance when it comes to Suddenlink.
here are the types of reports you can generate with Traceroute - »www.photog5.com/SUDDNL/Suddenlin···nce.html
please let me know if you see the same type results - so I can help Suddenlink see that they really need some upgrades somewhere!
photog5

anon : I have been experiencing very slow speeds for a week now. Tops 2Meg Down 250kb up (Should be 8 Down)

Anyway, one of the things that they have tried is a different modem. I had the Motorola Surfboard 5120. I was given an Ambit U10C0818.80 (odd model number but it is what it says on it)

Could someone tell me what if any difference there is in the two models, and would I be better off with the Motorola, esp seeing as using the Ambit did not solve the problem. (I now have to wait for them to roll a truck out here next week)

Thanks.
:)
