It does seem to be sending better than it's receiving.
New install, wireless problems

SparkChaser posted : Into the 2nd week of a new install and most things are working okay. Like most of the complaints, I think this concerns the Actiontec but I'm not sure. I don't do any "torrent" type stuff so I have not had the NAT problem.

The problem I'm having is that I have 2 laptops an HP on Vista and a Toshiba A45-S250 on XP. It's using a Belkin 7010 wireless adapter. The Toshiba is the one with the strange problems.

If I run the speed test I can get reasonable speeds. However, if I try to play and AVI video from another computer that is wired to the router I get stopping/stuttering video. If I'm within 10' of the router the AVI works. The farther the distance the worse it is. Sounds like a signal problem but it says the signal is fine. I don't know what the return signal to the router looks like.

When all of this was on a Linksys and cable I never saw the problem.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? I there something I should be tweaking in the router? Thanks.

Ron
--
"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." - Aldous Huxley

"It is a universal truth that the loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or pretended, from abroad." - James Madison
