SpeedTouch 516v6 R4421 Firmware Upgrade Wizard
I have just upgraded firmware from v6.1.9.6 to v7.4.3.2 and at the end got the following two errors:

This seems to be false alarm because the new firmware works like a charm, although, just in case, I ran the Easy Setup wizard from GUI and then went through all the settings manually (in theory, this is not needed because R4421 copies the settings from the old firmware to the new one):

Both zip files (firmware "ST5x6_ZZQ2AA7.432.zip" and R4421 wizard) can be found here (R4421 is in the first post):

| Hi,
I find this one original:

Euh... But since the installation was considered a failure it's only logical, no?!...

I wouldn't worry too much, you don't see those using the BootP method anyway!

Bad programming habbits, it's like the latest FirmWare (v7.4.4.7) which after more than a dozen revisions is still unable to fall-back gracefully, as 'RouterStats-Lite' revealed in a most evident way to me recently. As long as the bootloader doesn't get corrupted the ST5x6 owners should disregard these false alarms, i suppose...

3 edits | reply to Kirkx Thanks, Bicephale. Everything seems to be working fine. The only quirk I have found so far is the time zone setting. After you turn off and restart the modem it shows:
(UTC -05:00) Bogota, Lima, Quito Summer Time: Yes
instead of
(UTC -05:00) Eastern Time USA/Canada Summer Time: Yes

I don't know how important are modem's time zone settings, there is no DST in Colombia, Peru, nor Ecuador, so they are one hour behind ON/QC:

| Yes, quite rigt LesV99!
Now that you mention it, i do recall the time-zone issue and i must say it was puzzling!!! I just couldn't get that one fixed but i should have investigated a solution based on the template (.TPL) files, it might have worked. I did not even verify the Wizard variables of my 'user.ini' file.
I must confess i probably had other things on my mind...
