T-Mobile 3G service (and most likely the device itself) will be set up for 3G on 1700/2100MHz, and possibly the 1900/2100 global band, not 850/1900MHz for WCDMA.
You might only get EDGE service if it was unlocked/used on AT&T. -- Canada = Hollywood North
