anon : It depends on how busy things are in your system, but Shaw does try to stick to next day service. It also depends on how available you are, if you are only available in the evening for example, you may have to wait a little longer than if you took an appointment window that is 9-5 on a weekday. You should not be waiting weeks though to get a tech to your house.

When booking it make sure you are clear to the csr how many outlets are getting wired in. CSRs are notorious for not putting the correct information on work orders thus resulting in an installer who doesn't have enough time and either has to rush his work, or simply tell the customer he was only scheduled to do one outlet and the rest will have to be rebooked... neither are pleasant.

Also, having the general work area the installer will be working in clear of clutter, furniture or anyting breakable makes things go a lot smoother for everyone.

Harold Lloyd : I have only 2 outlets in my house. I understand you are allowed up to 4 outlets without an extra monthly fee.
And I have all the tiers plus some digital channels like Fairchild, Biography, and Lonestar.

From a previous thread, someone said the installation fee is $24.95 per extra outlet. Can anyone confirm this price?
It seems to be a very reasonable price, given the high labour costs these days. And it is sure easier than to run wires and split the cable yourself.

Thanks for any replies!
