| HDTV Antenna Are there any indoor hdtv antennas that will output to hdmi, component, rca, or s-video? My hdtv only has one f-cable input and it's occupied by my cable input, which I'm not ready to pay double price for high def. I just want a few of the free channels in hd for sports, and a way to have both a cable and over the air input.
Thanks! | |

Jim, you mentioned Central IL. Since you are posting on a Comcast connection, then you should be getting all of the National Affiliates (Fox, CBS, CW, ABC, NBC). If you want a list, go to »www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/channels

| Re: HDTV Antenna Ok, i did the searching on that website and all of my hd channels there aren't listed! I also checked comcast's listing and they don't match either. It doesn't help that sunday morning all I could find are church preachings in hd, but later in the day I checked and found lots of sports programs and was able to determine I have: abc, nbc, pbs, fox, tbs, cbs, and 2 others that seem to be public service related. Orignally they came up as digital but not hd quality. Then I losed a cable a little and twisted it a bit and now everything looks amazing! They are in full 720p hd. I can't wait until the october playoffs! | |

I can't wait until the october playoffs! Good that you found the freebie HD lineup. Most of the prime time shows on the national networks are in HD, along with major sports, but a lot of daytime shows and local news is still standard def. That could be why you found channels that were digital but weren't showing HD at the time.

| Have you tried letting your TV auto program itself to see if Comcast is already giving you a few HD channels? We have basic cable with HD service downstairs, hooked up with a Comcast HD box. I just put in an LCD tv upstairs, and with only coax coming in from the street it gets Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS and The CW in HD.
It's worth a shot to try letting the set do its auto program routine. My LCD has the HD's on sub-channels, CBS is 5-1, CBS HD is 5-2. Here's a thread talking about it on. »www.highdefforum.com/showthread.php?t=79041

| I let it autoprogram when I bought the tv about a month ago and it found 65 analog channels and 11 digital channels. All the digital channels were radio only channels. Today I autoprogrammed again and it picked up 23 digital channels. Theres about 10 new digital channels which are a better quality, although I wouldn't say hd yet. They're mostly very local channels like pbs and central illinois. No abc, nbc, or fox yet | |

If your cable system is like my parent's TW system, you may have to run the channel scan every few weeks or once a month as they may re-map channels. Their set-tops handle these changes transparently to the user but people using QAM have to deal with it manually.

| Yeah I think you're right. Originally when I got the tv, I couldn't use the cable modem and tv at the same time, and the modem was really laggy. The quality wasn't good and it didn't pick up the signals. Then one day the internet went completely out and the next day it was fast again. Now the hd works. | |
