I saw that actual statue in New York. I didn't know it would be at the museum and was astonished as I came around the corner and there it was.

Apparently, the picture was posed, however. The photographer had seen something similar earlier that day and had it recreated for the photograph.

I was in grade 3 on November 22, 1963 when JFK was shot.. I also remember watching Jack Ruby shooting Oswald in the basement of the Dallas Police Department on Sunday November 24, 1963 on tv.

When I returned to school on Monday, the Union Jack flew at half mast at Atlantic Memorial School in Shad Bay, Nova Scotia...

The actual memorial is in Arlington, VA. near the Arlington National Cemetary. What you saw was one of the many remakes.
